- The Basis Of Our Epistemology | Let Us Reason
This is a study that helps us determine whether or not we can know that the Bible is actually God’s Word. Is this within the scope and limits of what is actually knowable? The Basis of Our Epistemology | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download At present, we find ourselves living in one of the most skeptical generations in history. While we believe having a healthy skepticism toward things is good, we also believe that the way skepticism is exercised in our modern culture is not good - in that anything having to do with God and the Bible is automatically viewed with extreme unhealthy skepticism, while at the same time, mainstream unverified talking points are immediately taken as gospel. Skepticism should go both ways. Although our skeptical culture has accelerated the need for Christian apologetics (defending our beliefs), we believe it's always appropriate to be able to demonstrate why you believe what you believe. It must have some basis in evidence and logic. Further yet, you should be able to adequately explain and defend that belief to others. So, if we should know something about something in order to truly claim a belief in that thing, then we need to begin by familiarizing ourselves with the term “epistemology.” Epistemology is the theory of knowledge, its method, its scope, and its limits. Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion. It defines what we can actually know. In this study, The Basis Of Our Epistelomogy , our task will be to discover whether or not we can know that the Bible is actually God’s Word. Is there logical evidence for this? Is this within the scope and limits of what is actually knowable? Can we develop an epistemological framework that demonstrates that the Bible is a supernatural message system given to us by God? - Prophecy - The Various Forms And Modes Of Expression | Let Us Reason
This is a study that begins to delve deeper into the incredible subject of Bible prophecy. Does prophecy simply involve predicting the future in advance, or are there other types of prophecy as well? How does prophecy form our perception of the divine origin of the Bible? Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In our companion study, The Basis Of Our Epistemology , our central proposition was essentially that one of the greatest evidences of the validity of the Bible as being God’s Word comes from its routine use of prophecy. The Bible habitually anticipates history in advance. This quality – unique only to God, who exists outside of the dimension of time altogether – is one of the ways He authenticates His message to us. In light of this understanding, we can accurately state that the Bible is an extra-dimensional message system, in that its true origin (its Author) is from outside of our time dimension. So then, one of the greatest authentications of the Bible is its multitude of prophetic content. Not only does prophecy tell us that God exists, it also tells us that He’s in control of all things. The future is not unknown to Him. Rather, it is God who actually controls the future. In this study, Prophecy: The Various Forms And Modes Of Expression , we will begin to delve deeper into our understanding of this mysterious theme. Does prophecy simply involve predicting the future in advance, or are there other types of prophecy as well? How much prophecy is actually in the Bible? Does the Bible just happen to get a few vague predictions correct, or is its record of accuracy continual and specific? Can we give any examples? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - Understanding The Distinction Between Israel And The Church | Let Us Reason
This is a study that undertakes an exploration of a foundational key necessary for accurate Bible interpretation and the proper understanding of eschatology. Understanding the Distinction Between Israel and the Church | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, Understanding The Distinction Between Israel And The Church , we will explore this often ignored, and yet vitally important cornerstone for accurately interpreting the Bible. When this distinction is not understood, the downstream implications are disastrous, and inevitably lead to mistaken doctrine in key areas of Bible interpretation. Without this understanding, it will be impossible for any student of the Bible to have an accurate perception of God’s purpose and plans for the future, much less for the believer in the present Church Age. This issue of the distinction between Israel and the Church is in many ways closely tied in with the proper understanding of Biblical eschatology, or the prophetic study of the end-times. All of these necessary understandings are ultimately derived from having a sound hermeneutic (or method of Bible interpretation). So, how is the proper understanding of this topic – the distinction between Israel and the Church – a key to unlocking the proper understanding of some of the main themes of the Bible? - The Psalm 22 Prophecy: The Messiah On The Cross | Let Us Reason
This is a study that examines a key Old Testament chapter that includes some of the most precisely detailed prophecies that have ever come to pass. The Psalm 22 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, The Psalm 22 Prophecy: The Messiah On The Cross , we discover a cluster of some of the clearest and most precisely detailed prophecies that have ever come to pass. These prophecies in Psalm 22 describe in detail the future death of the Messiah with a vividness not even exhibited by the New Testament epistles, years after the fact. This demonstrates not only the supernaturally integrated design of the Bible, but clearly reveals a characteristic unique only to God - prophecy! Only a Being residing outside the limitations of our physical reality would be able to see the future before it takes place in our space-time. And only a Being who loves us immensely would enter into our space-time Himself in order to become the perfect sacrifice for our redemption – writing us a love-letter in advance that depicted in great detail the very sacrifice He would one day provide. - Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy: The Babylonian Captivity | Let Us Reason
This is a study that explores the often-misunderstood prophecy of the 70 years of Israel's Babylonian captivity. Was this prophecy fulfilled precisely? Does it align with our understanding of ancient history? Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy: The Babylonian Captivity , we will explore this often misunderstood prophecy in depth and try to determine if what we know from history aligns with what the Bible says about these prophetic seventy years. Jeremiah’s prophecy about the impending Babylonian invasion and the captivity of the Jews is undoubtedly his most well-known prophecy – and is linked with a duration of seventy years. But a historical seventy-year period has been problematic for some commentators to identify precisely. Can we identify this period with any confidence? Some have concluded that these seventy-year prophecies are only approximate at best, and wildly inaccurate at worst. Is this true? Or were these prophecies fulfilled accurately? And if so, can it be proven using our understanding of ancient history? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - Establishing The Prophetic Validity Of The Book Of Daniel | Let Us Reason
This is a study that examines the evidence supporting the Old Testament book of Daniel as being a valid prophetic source. Establishing the Prophetic Validity of the Book of Daniel | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download Many of the most incredible prophecies in the entire Bible are found in the Old Testament book written by Daniel the Prophet. Because of the importance of these prophecies, and because we examine a number of them in our studies, we believe it is essential to take a short excursion into an examination of the validity of Daniel as a prophetic source. Due to the remarkable prophetic accuracy and specificity in this book, Daniel has come under attack by critics who deliberately seek to undermine its validity in order to avoid acknowledging its prophetic nature. But in recent years, there have been a number of discoveries – archeological, linguistic and others – that help provide important substantiation of the accuracy, early dating, and historicity of Daniel, confirming it as a valid prophetic source. In this study, Establishing The Prophetic Validity Of The Book Of Daniel , we will examine this evidence and determine how confident we can be in this incredible prophetic book. - Nimrod - Was He An Actual Historical Figure? | Let Us Reason
One of the great mysteries of the Bible involves the identity of Nimrod. Despite only being mentioned several times in scripture, he is recognized as one of the greatest villains in biblical history, and even as the first prototype of the future Antichrist. But the major question surrounds his historical identity. Is there any evidence that Nimrod was an actual historical figure, as the Bible claims? If so, who is he? Is there anyone whose exploits reflect what the Bible says about Nimrod? Nimrod - Was He An Actual Historical Figure? | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download One of the great mysteries of the Bible involves the identity of Nimrod, the character mentioned in early Genesis who is often credited with building the Tower of Babel. Despite only being mentioned several times in scripture, he is notoriously recognized as being one of the greatest villains in biblical history, and even as the first prototype of the future Antichrist figure. But the major question surrounds his actual historical identity. Is there any evidence that Nimrod was an actual historical figure, as the Bible claims? If so, who is he? Is there anyone whose exploits actually reflect what the Bible says about Nimrod? Of course, surely a person as notorious as Nimrod would be identifiable in history, if he was truly a real, historical character, as the Bible seems to present him as. There should be some memory of him preserved as an actual historical king, not just a mythical figure. As we’ll demonstrate in this study - Nimrod Was He An Actual Historical Figure? - it in fact does seem that we’re able to positively identify him. Although we can’t be dogmatic, this study will present to you the reasons why I’m convinced that we can positively identify Nimrod! Download this free study to find out more! - The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy: The Destruction Of Jerusalem Foretold | Let Us Reason
This study will undertake an in-depth examination of Jesus' mournful prophecy of the then-future destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, which later took place around 70 A.D. The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy: The Destruction Of Jerusalem Foretold , we will undertake an in-depth examination of Jesus' mournful prophecy of the then-future destruction of the city and the Temple. The chilling fulfillment of these events in 70 AD is a well-documented fact of history, being the climax of the war that began when the Jews revolted against the Romans in 66 AD. In this study, we will take an in-depth look at some amazing specifics concerning this destruction that have been handed down to us through archaeology and ancient histories – specifics that demonstrate the astonishing precision of Jesus’ prediction. But before delving into that, we need to first spend some time examining the Gospel of Luke as a reliable and prophetic source. If we are to recognize the words of Jesus – which Luke records – as being genuine prophecy, we need solid reasons to support the assertion that it was actually written prior to the fulfillments of the events it speaks of. If on the other hand, it was written long after the events it foretells – a common claim by the critics – then it obviously could not be regarded as prophetic. How much confidence can we actually have in this prophecy? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - The Isaiah 53 Prophecy: The Messiah As The "Suffering Servant" | Let Us Reason
This study undertakes a prophetic examination of Isaiah 53 in an effort to determine just how precise it actually is. The Isaiah 53 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download What sets the Bible apart from other religious books is that it contains thousands of prophecies. Since Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Bible, it should come as no surprise that the Bible is absolutely full of incredibly detailed prophecies about Him. One of the most astonishing prophetic chapters is Isaiah 53. Seven hundred years before Jesus, the prophet Isaiah wrote this incredible prophetic portrait of the Messiah in His redemptive role as a “Suffering Servant.” Isaiah 53 records in vivid detail the mission and purpose of the Messiah in His First Coming on earth. Because the prophetic content of this chapter so precisely portrays the experience of Jesus Christ on the cross – as recorded in the New Testament gospels – Isaiah 53 has predictably come under attack by the critics. In this study, The Isaiah 53 Prophecy: The Messiah As The "Suffering Servant ," we will first address the two major claims by the critics and determine whether they are legitimate. We will then undertake a prophetic examination of Isaiah 53 in an effort to determine just how precise this prophecy actually is. Download this free study and find out for yourself!
