- How Sure Can We Be That Jesus Was The Messiah Of Israel | Let Us Reason
This is a study that undertakes an eye-opening exercise that answers this question from the standpoint of statistical probability. How confident can we really be that Jesus is the true Messiah of Israel? How Sure Can We Be That Jesus Was The Messiah of Israel? | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, How Sure Can We Be That Jesus Was The Messiah Of Israel? , we conduct an exercise that concerns this question, which is actually one of the most important themes in the entire Bible. But even more importantly, if we find that the answer is yes, how confident can we be that He was? We answer this by taking a brief sampling of some of the prophecies which were recorded in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New, and attempt to examine them quantitatively. In other words, this will be an exercise in composite probabilities. Can we demonstrate mathematically that Jesus was who He said He was? And can we use quantitative data to show just how sure we are of this? Is it possible to be more certain that Jesus Christ was the Messiah of Israel than we are of basically any other fact in the universe? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy: The Babylonian Captivity | Let Us Reason
This is a study that explores the often-misunderstood prophecy of the 70 years of Israel's Babylonian captivity. Was this prophecy fulfilled precisely? Does it align with our understanding of ancient history? Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, Jeremiah's 70 Years Prophecy: The Babylonian Captivity , we will explore this often misunderstood prophecy in depth and try to determine if what we know from history aligns with what the Bible says about these prophetic seventy years. Jeremiah’s prophecy about the impending Babylonian invasion and the captivity of the Jews is undoubtedly his most well-known prophecy – and is linked with a duration of seventy years. But a historical seventy-year period has been problematic for some commentators to identify precisely. Can we identify this period with any confidence? Some have concluded that these seventy-year prophecies are only approximate at best, and wildly inaccurate at worst. Is this true? Or were these prophecies fulfilled accurately? And if so, can it be proven using our understanding of ancient history? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy: The Destruction Of Jerusalem Foretold | Let Us Reason
This study will undertake an in-depth examination of Jesus' mournful prophecy of the then-future destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, which later took place around 70 A.D. The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, The Luke 19:43-44 Prophecy: The Destruction Of Jerusalem Foretold , we will undertake an in-depth examination of Jesus' mournful prophecy of the then-future destruction of the city and the Temple. The chilling fulfillment of these events in 70 AD is a well-documented fact of history, being the climax of the war that began when the Jews revolted against the Romans in 66 AD. In this study, we will take an in-depth look at some amazing specifics concerning this destruction that have been handed down to us through archaeology and ancient histories – specifics that demonstrate the astonishing precision of Jesus’ prediction. But before delving into that, we need to first spend some time examining the Gospel of Luke as a reliable and prophetic source. If we are to recognize the words of Jesus – which Luke records – as being genuine prophecy, we need solid reasons to support the assertion that it was actually written prior to the fulfillments of the events it speaks of. If on the other hand, it was written long after the events it foretells – a common claim by the critics – then it obviously could not be regarded as prophetic. How much confidence can we actually have in this prophecy? Download this free study and find out for yourself! - A Refutation Of Alternative Chronologies Of The Passion Week | Let Us Reason
This is a study that examines some of the major objections put forward by those who reject the traditional viewpoint of a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection – and we will explore their validity. A Refutation of Alternative Chronologies of the Passion Week | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download Today, there exists much confusion surrounding the dating and chronology of events taking place during the Passion Week of Christ. There are those who now are advocating for a Wednesday or a Thursday crucifixion and a Saturday resurrection. To the casual onlooker unschooled in the original languages, their points may initially appear to have some validity. But because this issue is so important – in that it affects so many other date-sensitive prophetic timelines in the Bible – it is imperative that we go into some further depth in order to examine these points. In this study, A Refutation Of Alternative Chronologies Of The Passion Week , we will touch on some of the major objections put forward by those who reject the traditional viewpoint of a Friday crucifixion and a Sunday resurrection – and we will explore their validity. Download this free study to learn more! Introduction The Traditional Christian View – Friday Crucifixion and Sunday Resurrection Introduction to the Alternative Chronologies Objection #1: “Scripture indicates there were two separate Sabbaths in between the time Jesus died and resurrected, making the crucifixion Wednesday or Thursday rather than Friday” Objection #2: “Certain passages of Scripture indicate that the resurrection took place on a Saturday rather than a Sunday” Objection #3: “The women bought spices after the Sabbath (Mark 16:1) and prepared spices before they rested on the Sabbath (Luke 23:55-56)” Objection #4: “A Friday crucifixion with a Sunday resurrection would violate the 'three days, three nights ‘sign of Jonah’ prophecy' in Matthew 12:40” Further Considerations Conclusion Appendix Bibliography Download ePub/iBook Format Download PDF Format Back to Home
- Establishing The Prophetic Validity Of The Book Of Daniel | Let Us Reason
This is a study that examines the evidence supporting the Old Testament book of Daniel as being a valid prophetic source. Establishing the Prophetic Validity of the Book of Daniel | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download Many of the most incredible prophecies in the entire Bible are found in the Old Testament book written by Daniel the Prophet. Because of the importance of these prophecies, and because we examine a number of them in our studies, we believe it is essential to take a short excursion into an examination of the validity of Daniel as a prophetic source. Due to the remarkable prophetic accuracy and specificity in this book, Daniel has come under attack by critics who deliberately seek to undermine its validity in order to avoid acknowledging its prophetic nature. But in recent years, there have been a number of discoveries – archeological, linguistic and others – that help provide important substantiation of the accuracy, early dating, and historicity of Daniel, confirming it as a valid prophetic source. In this study, Establishing The Prophetic Validity Of The Book Of Daniel , we will examine this evidence and determine how confident we can be in this incredible prophetic book. - The Isaiah 53 Prophecy: The Messiah As The "Suffering Servant" | Let Us Reason
This study undertakes a prophetic examination of Isaiah 53 in an effort to determine just how precise it actually is. The Isaiah 53 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download What sets the Bible apart from other religious books is that it contains thousands of prophecies. Since Jesus Christ is the central figure of the Bible, it should come as no surprise that the Bible is absolutely full of incredibly detailed prophecies about Him. One of the most astonishing prophetic chapters is Isaiah 53. Seven hundred years before Jesus, the prophet Isaiah wrote this incredible prophetic portrait of the Messiah in His redemptive role as a “Suffering Servant.” Isaiah 53 records in vivid detail the mission and purpose of the Messiah in His First Coming on earth. Because the prophetic content of this chapter so precisely portrays the experience of Jesus Christ on the cross – as recorded in the New Testament gospels – Isaiah 53 has predictably come under attack by the critics. In this study, The Isaiah 53 Prophecy: The Messiah As The "Suffering Servant ," we will first address the two major claims by the critics and determine whether they are legitimate. We will then undertake a prophetic examination of Isaiah 53 in an effort to determine just how precise this prophecy actually is. Download this free study and find out for yourself! - The Daniel 11 Prophecy: History From The 5th-1st Centuries B.C. Detailed In Advance | Let Us Reason
This is a study that undertakes an exploration of the longest continuous prophecy in the Bible, found mostly in Daniel Chapter 11. Does it align with our understanding of ancient history? How precise is it? The Daniel 11 Prophecy | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download In this study, The Daniel 11 Prophecy: History From The 5th-1st Centuries B.C. Detailed In Advance , we will undertake an exploration of the longest continuous prophecy in the Bible, found in the 11th Chapter of Daniel, and continuing into the beginning of Chapter 12. This expansive prophecy anticipates the political maneuverings of the powers that fought over and ruled Judea and the Jews throughout the period of the first sixty-nine weeks of the seventy weeks prophecy given earlier to Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27). These powers included the northern Seleucid kingdom of Syria, the southern Ptolemaic kingdom of Egypt, the Jewish Hasmonean dynasty, the Roman Empire, and Rome’s vassal in Judea, Herod the Great. Like many prophecies, this one is likely dual in many ways; events that have occurred in ancient times will likely be replicated at the time of the end (in the future seventieth week) for an ultimate far-term fulfillment. It seems clear that Antiochus IV and Herod the Great are types of the coming Antichrist. What is remarkable from this extensive prophecy is how it thoroughly demonstrates the precision the Bible uses to profile history in advance. Just how precise is it? - The Basis Of Our Epistemology | Let Us Reason
This is a study that helps us determine whether or not we can know that the Bible is actually God’s Word. Is this within the scope and limits of what is actually knowable? The Basis of Our Epistemology | Let Us Reason Description Contents Download At present, we find ourselves living in one of the most skeptical generations in history. While we believe having a healthy skepticism toward things is good, we also believe that the way skepticism is exercised in our modern culture is not good - in that anything having to do with God and the Bible is automatically viewed with extreme unhealthy skepticism, while at the same time, mainstream unverified talking points are immediately taken as gospel. Skepticism should go both ways. Although our skeptical culture has accelerated the need for Christian apologetics (defending our beliefs), we believe it's always appropriate to be able to demonstrate why you believe what you believe. It must have some basis in evidence and logic. Further yet, you should be able to adequately explain and defend that belief to others. So, if we should know something about something in order to truly claim a belief in that thing, then we need to begin by familiarizing ourselves with the term “epistemology.” Epistemology is the theory of knowledge, its method, its scope, and its limits. Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion. It defines what we can actually know. In this study, The Basis Of Our Epistelomogy , our task will be to discover whether or not we can know that the Bible is actually God’s Word. Is there logical evidence for this? Is this within the scope and limits of what is actually knowable? Can we develop an epistemological framework that demonstrates that the Bible is a supernatural message system given to us by God?
